Retro Rooms Vintage Interior Fair Belfast

The Retro Rooms Show in The Holliday Inn, Ormeau Avenue, Belfast this weekend Sunday the 6th March 2011 is a must for all vintage hustlers, mid century freaks and modern design minglers.  Its the first vintage fair in Ireland to concentrate wholly on interiors, vintage furniture, ceramics, lighting and art so no clothes, make-up or ballroom distractions, just lots of lovely items of great design, inspiration and desire.  Please see some images below of some goodies that will be hopefully up for grabs and a list of seller's and exhibitors on show:

Vintage at the Brocante Sunday 16th January 2011

Vintage Furniture at the Brocante Market this Sunday the 16th of January Newmarket Square Dublin 8 just off Cork Street, a very nice day to chill out and have a lovely experience browsing through all the goodies on offer and having a very nice coffee and one of the best ciabattas in the business from Luca, Aisling and Co.

The Brocante Market is becoming the main and "in" place for followers and enthusiasts of original vintage furniture, lighting, ceramics and art.

Many vintage dealers sell at the Brocante and use it as their main window for the public to come and view their wares.  The atmosphere is always top notch and the venue is excellent with the added advantage of parking for those who drive.  The cafe has to be experienced, fantastic authentic Italian food and wonderful fresh Italian cuisine and coffee at affordable prices which is what we all like to hear.

Vintage furniture sellers; Original Compulsive Design ( thats me) Richard Harte (coolretro), Killian from Mid Century Online, Geoff Kirk, Kirk Modern,  Andy Vayne hitmeinthevayneline, Paul Bryne Retrorumage, Selina Gittens Eclectic Designs, Robbie and his missus from TLC and many more. 

There is a great eclectic mix of furniture styles at the Brocante Market and you will always be stimulated with designs ranging from vintage to edwardian, bricabrac to contemporary screen printing.  For this Brocante on Sunday, January 16th 2011, I will have a lovely G-Plan 1950s table and chairs set, a 1960s Danish Lounge chair, a pair of Guzzini ceiling lights, a white Anglepoise lamp, a 1960s Avalon chest of Drawers from the 1960s and a range of other goodies.

The last time I did the Brocante Market at New Market Square on Sunday I sold a very nice vintage John and Sylvia Reid table and chairs set from the 1970s, a faux leather swivel chair, a 1960s very cool leather stool, a cute tripod lamp and a few other bits and bobs.  

What a wonderfull Eric Kirkengaard chair, I sold a beautiful set of four, during the summer, a truly amazing comfortable chair from a classic Danish designer.

Just back from a very successful buyimg trip and have lots and lots of goddies for the Vintage deprived. However, things are getting better for lovers of vintage furniture, with more sellers of vintage furniture than ever befor here in the green isle. Fuse Interiors, Kirk Modern, Richard Harte, Andy Vayne, Retrospect, Wildchild and Retrorumage to name but a few. Also the emergence of the Brocante Market at Newmarket Sqaure is a breath of fresh air and a well needed platform for the sellers of vintage design, long may it continue to expand and develope.

Original Compulsive Design flavour

Hi, been busy sucking on a wurthers original, busy with the shop and seeking out retro furniture and trying to update the website. We have sold some very nice pieces recently and are always adding to our collection. The website is harder to manage re updating with new stock as things sell before you can get the time to take a pic and do the text and then you have to edit the exsting page, all time consumming etc. Any way I have added some pics of things we havew sold that were not on the site, please keep an eye as things are always comming and going.
